Accepting Money Through PayPal

Hello guys, it feels good to come back. It has been long since I shared, my life was a bit messy and it needed my attention. The good news is, I have everything planned out, and every Monday, Wednesday and Friday you will have something to chew here at the Lydia Kamau Biz Hub, which we call it LKB Hub, welcome!

Freelancing is made possible if you have an efficient method of payment. I live in Africa (Kenya) and when I joined the freelancing community it was a bit challenging on how I would receive my funds when customers pay me for their services. Not until I knew about PayPal.

PayPal is a worldwide online payment system that supports online money transfer. It supports more than 200 countries and above. It takes less than 2 minutes to sign up for a PayPal account.

Steps To Open for A PayPal Account.

Go to the PayPal website (Click here)

Click Sign Up, you will get two options (select business account) this is because you can decide to take your business a top-notch higher and have an eCommerce website and it can be very helpful while selling your products and services even though you can change your personal account to a business account.

Then continue with the process. Enter your email address, create your password and verify your email.

After that you will get a form to fill about your personal information, that is, your legal name, address, etc. and you are done.

So, how will the customer pay you?

Every time a customer wants to pay your services or goods, you will just send them the email address that you used to open your PayPal account and that’s all.

Next article we will discuss how to link your PayPal to your bank account (and good news for Kenyan freelancers because we have Equity Bank and Mpesa who have done a major deal with PayPal and they made the payment transfer very easy and efficient)

Your Thoughts?

I would love to hear from you, have you been using PayPal, or any other method of payment? What are your thoughts? Comment Below. All the best and remember hard work pays.

While I am writing this article I am listening to Sia, ‘Snowman’ you know Christmas  Mood. Go check her out. Have a productive Monday!
